Sunday Reflection – 14 November 2021

THIRTY-THIRD SUNDAY IN ORDINARY TIME

Also Read: Mass Readings for 14 November 2021

First Reading: Daniel 12: 1-3

Shine!

(3) Those who are wise shall shine like the brightness of the sky and those who lead many to righteousness like the stars forever and ever.

Who can be found truly wise? Only God. Yet, we humans fashioned in the image and likeness of God, have a Godly inheritance! Therefore, we can dare to attempt at being wise but only and only through his son Jesus Christ and by the power of the Holy Spirit.

Now, what could be the attribute of a wise one? -The ones who lead others to righteousness! Blessed are those who inspire people around them to righteousness! So who can know what is truly right, then? When we turn to God with a humble and repentant spirit, God in his great mercy and love grants us the same Holy Spirit to guide us! Amen!

May we be attentive to the voice of the Dear Holy Spirit. Amen!

Responsorial Psalm: Psalms 16: 5, 8, 9-10, 11

Rejoice!

(8) I keep the Lord always before me; because he is at my right hand, I shall not be moved.

(9) Therefore my heart is glad and my soul rejoices; my body also rests secure.

Second Reading: Hebrews 10: 11-14, 18

We are Saved!

(14) For by a single offering he (Jesus Christ) has perfected for all time those who are sanctified.

Christ Jesus’ life, passion, death, and resurrection was the perfect sacrifice. God himself came down to earth, to save the earth! Thank You, God! Amen!

Gospel: Mark 13: 24-32

Rejoice and Be Battle Ready At All Times!

May we learn our lesson from the fig tree! (28)

There is a sense of foreboding, in the present times we live in! The words of the Gospel today indicate a similar warning! The spiritual battle we face today is a very real one. Because the devil is a real being! Of course, we are able to overcome the temptations of evil because we serve a True and Living God who has already redeemed us! He has given us his Holy Spirit!

What must we do now that we are aware of this! -Take charge of our walk with the Lord! How-(refer Ps 16:8) Daily: Read the word of God, attend Holy Eucharist, Recite the Holy Rosary, keep our mind, spirit, will and heart focussed on Jesus Christ! For with the testing God also provides us the way out so that we endure! (1Cor 10:13)The weapons of our warfare have divine power to destroy strongholds. (2Cor 10:4)

Therefore, do not worry about anything but rejoice, and may the peace of God which surpasses all understanding guard our hearts and our minds in Christ Jesus. (Phil 4:4-7)

Amen!
