Palm Sunday begins Holy Week. The crowds cry “Hosanna,” yet the same voices will soon shout “Crucify Him.” The triumphal entry reveals both glory and rejection.
Today we examine the sincerity of our own devotion.
Bible Verse of the Day
“Hosanna to the Son of David! Blessed is He who comes in the name of the Lord!” – Matthew 21:9
A Prayer of Faithful Allegiance
Lord Jesus,
Today You enter Jerusalem in humility, riding on a donkey, welcomed with palm branches and cries of praise. The crowd celebrates You as King.
Yet You know how quickly praise can turn to rejection. You know how fragile human loyalty can be.
I ask You to examine my heart. Is my devotion consistent, or does it waver with circumstances? Do I praise You in comfort but hesitate in sacrifice?
Grant me faithful allegiance. Let my Hosanna not be shallow enthusiasm, but sincere commitment. Teach me to follow You not only in moments of joy, but through suffering and sacrifice.
As Holy Week begins, let me remain close to You. May I not turn away when the Cross appears. Strengthen my fidelity and deepen my love.
Hosanna in the highest. Reign in my heart always.
Through Christ our Lord.
Amen.
