Sunday Reflection – 28 November 2021

FIRST SUNDAY OF ADVENT

Also Read: Mass Readings for 28 November 2021

First Reading: Jeremiah 33: 14-16

The Lord is our Righteousness

In those days, …he shall execute justice and righteousness in the land. (15)

These are the days spoken about by the Prophet Jeremiah. We are so much in need of justice and righteousness, that only God can render right now! Amen!

Therefore we must prepare; clean our linen and oil our lamps. We can be washed in the precious blood of Our Lord Jesus and have faith in our hearts (lamps). But the first step is to repent! The Lord draws ever near! Amen.

Responsorial Psalm: Psalms 25: 4-5, 8-9, 10, 14

He leads the humble in what is right and teaches the humble his way. (9)

When we repent, we show our humility before God. Then, we can be led by His teachings! Amen!

Second Reading: First Thessalonians 3: 12 – 4: 2

Abound in love…just as we abound in love for you. (12)

Love is the only commandment for us, but it takes everything in us to uphold it! It primarily takes humility, courage, faith, and wisdom. Only the truly wise, will truly love! We can attempt to do likewise! Amen!

Gospel: Luke 21: 25-28, 34-36

Then they will see ‘the Son of Man coming in cloud’ with power and great glory. (27)

Are we ready for that day? Be on guard, so that we may not be lost in drunkenness and dissipation. (34) The moral values of our current times are at an all-time low. Therefore we must be on constant guard duty with the whole armor of God always worn. (Eph 6:10-20) Be alert and pray at all times. (36)

Amen!
