All Saints

Also Read: Mass Readings for 01 November 2026

First Reading: Revelation 7: 2-4, 9-14

“I saw another angel ascending from the rising of the sun, having the seal of the living God, and he called with a loud voice to the four angels who had been given power to damage earth and sea.” (2)

On the feast day of All Saints, the Church reminds us today about the great multitude of Saints who have gone before and stand in the presence of God! We can say that the seal symbolizes God’s ownership (2 Tim 2:19) and protection of his people from coming judgments (Ezek 9:4–6). As God protected his own people in Goshen during the plagues, so he would be with them as the world faced his judgments. The Seal of the Holy Spirit can be identified from the book of Ephesians 4:30 – “And do not grieve the Holy Spirit of God, in whom you were sealed for the day of redemption.”

The Sign of the Holy Cross and the Holy Spirit within us are our seals of God! Let us remember to sign ourselves regularly and pray to the Holy Spirit frequently. Thus, we will be invoking the Seal as a living instrument in our lives! In Jesus’ name, Amen!

Responsorial Psalm: Psalms 24: 1-6

Who shall ascend the hill of the Lord? And who shall stand in his holy place? Those who have clean hands and pure hearts, who do not lift up their souls to what is false, and do not swear deceitfully. (3-4)

Amen, Alleluia!

Second Reading: First John 3: 1-3

“Beloved, we are God’s children now; what we will be has not yet been revealed. What we do know is this: when he is revealed, we will be like him, for we will see him as he is.” (2)

St. John confirms God’s ownership over us in the second reading today! The hope for all God’s children is that they can see God in all his glory at the end of their lives! But that is a choice they make daily, by the way they live!

The choices we make today affect our eternity! Let us pray to the Holy Spirit and Mother Mary as our guide to help us make those choices. In Jesus’ name, Amen!

Alleluia: Matthew 11: 28

Alleluia, Alleluia! “Come to me, all you that are weary and are carrying heavy burdens, and I will give you rest.” Alleluia!

Gospel: Matthew 5: 1-12a

“Blessed are the peacemakers, for they will be called children of God. Blessed are those who are persecuted for righteousness’ sake, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. Blessed are you when people revile you and persecute you and utter all kinds of evil against you falsely on my account. Rejoice and be glad, for your reward is great in heaven, for, in the same way, they persecuted the prophets who were before you.” (9-12)

Christ Jesus, in his sermon on the mount, has given us a slice of heaven! We get to experience this slice of heaven every time at the Holy Eucharist celebration, as well! Let us strive to be the peacemakers He has called us to be. Let us not be weary or disheartened in our bid to see “HIM”! In Jesus’ name, Amen!

Happy All Saints’ Day, Everyone!
