Thirty-Second Sunday in Ordinary Time
Also Read: Mass Readings for 08 November 2026
First Reading: Wisdom 6: 12-16
She (Wisdom) hastens to make herself known to those who desire her. One who rises early to seek her will have no difficulty, for she will be found sitting at the gate. (13–14)
On this thirty-second Sunday in ordinary time, we are reminded to focus on the Wisdom which comes from God. During mundane or exceptional days, we are called to function through the mediation of the Holy Spirit, who grants us the necessary discernment. What an amazing experience the Saints may have known as they sought God’s Wisdom and “…she graciously appears to them in their paths” (V.16)
We pray for grace to remain humble and obedient to the promptings of the Holy Spirit. May we constantly retrain our minds to seek the divine counsel in all that we do or say. In Jesus’ name, Amen!
Responsorial Psalm: Psalms 63: 2-8
So I have looked upon you in the sanctuary, beholding your power and glory. Because your steadfast love is better than life, my lips will praise you. So I will bless you as long as I live; I will lift up my hands and call on your name. (2-4)
We are also reminded to spend time in holy adoration with the Blessed Sacrament more frequently. Amen, Alleluia!
Second Reading: First Thessalonians 4: 13-18
For the Lord himself, with a cry of command, with the archangel’s call and with the sound of God’s trumpet, will descend from heaven, and the dead in Christ will rise first. Then we who are alive, who are left, will be caught up in the clouds together with them to meet the Lord in the air; and so we will be with the Lord forever. Therefore, encourage one another with these words. (16-18)
St. Paul seeks to encourage the Thessalonians in their time of grief and distress. By extension, he provides us with the support we need. Let us remember that Christ has risen and in Him, we too shall rise again. This is a fact and not just an article of our faith! Let us rejoice, therefore, in the Lord here and now in anticipation! In Jesus’ name, Amen!
Alleluia: Matthew 24: 42a, 44
Alleluia, Alleluia!! Keep awake therefore, for you do not know on what day your Lord is coming. Therefore, you also must be ready, for the Son of Man is coming at an unexpected hour. Alleluia!
Gospel: Matthew 25: 1-13
The art of holy preparation!
When the foolish took their lamps, they took no oil with them; but the wise took flasks of oil with their lamps. (3-4)
But at midnight there was a shout, ‘Look! Here is the bridegroom! Come out to meet him.’ (6)
Through this parable, Jesus indicates to us the manner in which the Kingdom of Heaven will appear. The faith, the skills, the opportunities, and the wisdom we have been granted by God, we ought to utilize towards our salvation and as a blessing to others! We ask the Lord today to help us recognize our faults, where and what we lack in following this path. We look to the saints for their wisdom in honing our talent and applying our time to do our best in achieving this goal. So that we may be able to hear the divine call and gladly meet the bridegroom of our soul with a brightly glowing lamp in our heart.
In Jesus’ name, Amen!
