Today we are reminded of humility. Christ warns against seeking recognition and honor. True greatness in the Kingdom of God is found in humble service.
Lent invites us to examine our motives and purify our intentions.
Bible Verse of the Day
“Whoever humbles himself will be exalted.” – Matthew 23:12
A Prayer for Humility
Lord Jesus,
You humbled Yourself, taking the form of a servant and accepting even death on a cross. Yet I often seek recognition and approval. I desire to be noticed, appreciated, and praised.
Forgive me for pride that hides in subtle ways. Forgive me for the desire to appear righteous rather than to be truly faithful.
Teach me authentic humility. Help me to serve without seeking attention. Let my actions be motivated by love rather than by reputation.
When I am tempted to elevate myself, remind me of Your example. When I am overlooked, give me peace. When I feel unappreciated, strengthen my trust in Your reward.
May this Lent purify my intentions and deepen my humility. Let my life reflect quiet faithfulness and sincere service.
Through Christ our Lord.
Amen.
