Friday once again draws our attention to the Cross and to perseverance in suffering. The Psalmist proclaims that the Lord is our light and salvation. In times of fear or uncertainty, we are called to stand firm in faith.
Today we pray for courage and confidence in God.
Bible Verse of the Day
“The Lord is my light and my salvation; whom should I fear?” – Psalm 27:1
A Prayer Against Fear
Lord God,
You are my light in darkness and my salvation in every storm. Yet I admit that fear sometimes controls my thoughts and decisions. I worry about the future. I fear failure, rejection, and loss.
Forgive me for allowing fear to overshadow trust. You have never abandoned me. You have guided me through trials before, and You remain faithful today.
Shine Your light into the shadows of my anxiety. Replace fear with courage. Replace doubt with confidence in Your love.
When I feel overwhelmed, remind me that You are near. When uncertainty surrounds me, anchor my heart in Your promises.
May this Lenten season free me from unnecessary fear. May I walk in the light of Your presence with bold and steadfast faith.
Through Christ our Lord.
Amen.
