As we approach the Fourth Sunday of Lent, the Lord reminds us of His desire for mercy. He calls us not merely to religious observance, but to compassion and kindness.

A Prayer for a Merciful Heart
Loving Father,
You desire mercy more than sacrifice. You delight in compassion more than outward ritual. Yet I confess that I sometimes focus more on appearances than on charity.
Teach me to value mercy above judgment. Help me to treat others with kindness, especially when it is difficult. Remove harshness and impatience from my heart.
May my Lenten sacrifices make me more understanding, not more critical. Let prayer soften me, not harden me. Let fasting deepen my compassion.
Help me to reflect Your mercy in my words and actions. May I see others as You see them, with patience and love.
As I continue this Lenten journey, form within me a heart that delights in mercy and seeks to know You more deeply.
