Holy Thursday begins the Sacred Triduum. On this night, Christ gives us the Eucharist and the priesthood. He washes the feet of His disciples and commands them to love.
Tonight we enter into sacred mystery.

A Prayer of Eucharistic Gratitude
Lord Jesus,
On this holy night, You gathered with Your disciples and gave them a gift beyond measure. You gave not only bread and wine, but Yourself.
You humbled Yourself to wash their feet. You commanded love. You instituted the Eucharist, the sacrament of Your abiding presence.
How can I fully grasp this mystery? That You would remain with us, hidden under the appearance of bread and wine, offering Yourself continually for our salvation.
Increase my reverence for the Eucharist. Remove routine and distraction from my participation in Mass. Help me approach Your altar with awe and gratitude.
Teach me the humility of service. As You washed feet, may I serve others without pride.
On this Holy Thursday, let my heart overflow with gratitude for Your self-giving love. Keep me near You in the garden. Help me watch and pray.
