As the first week of Lent continues, we are called to holiness. God does not merely ask us to avoid sin. He calls us to become holy as He is holy. Holiness is not reserved for saints alone. It is the vocation of every Christian.
Today we ask for the grace to grow in holiness through daily choices.
Bible Verse of the Day
“Be holy, for I, the Lord your God, am holy.” – Leviticus 19:2
A Prayer for Holiness
Heavenly Father,
You call me to holiness. This calling both humbles and challenges me. I know my weaknesses, yet You still invite me to reflect Your goodness in my life.
Help me to understand that holiness is not perfection achieved by my own strength, but a life transformed by Your grace. Purify my thoughts. Guide my words. Direct my actions.
Teach me to choose patience over anger, kindness over criticism, generosity over selfishness. May my daily decisions reflect my desire to belong entirely to You.
Remove anything within me that resists Your transforming work. Shape my heart to resemble the Sacred Heart of Your Son.
May this Lent be a time of growth in virtue. May I seek holiness not for recognition, but out of love for You.
Through Christ our Lord.
Amen.
