Lenten Preparation – Day 6: Tuesday of the First Week of Lent

As we continue our Lenten journey, the Lord calls us to seek Him sincerely. Lent is not merely about sacrifice. It is about relationship. God desires that we draw near to Him intentionally and wholeheartedly.

When we seek Him with sincerity, He allows Himself to be found.

Bible Verse of the Day

“Seek the Lord while He may be found; call upon Him while He is near.” – Isaiah 55:6

A Prayer for a Seeking Heart

Heavenly Father,
You invite me to seek You, yet I confess that my heart is often distracted. I fill my days with noise and responsibilities, leaving little space for silence and communion with You.

Forgive me for the times I have searched for meaning in temporary things instead of turning to You, the source of true peace. Forgive me for choosing busyness over prayer and comfort over contemplation.

Today I desire to seek You with greater sincerity. Quiet my restless thoughts. Calm my anxieties. Remove the distractions that weaken my focus on You.

Teach me to seek You in Scripture, in silence, and in the quiet movements of grace throughout my day. When prayer feels dry, strengthen my perseverance. When I do not feel Your nearness, deepen my trust.

Let this Lenten season awaken within me a deeper hunger for Your presence. May I seek You not only in times of need, but in gratitude and love.

And as I search for You, allow me to discover the peace that only You can give.

Through Christ our Lord.

Amen.

Reflection

God desires to be found.

  • Are you intentionally making time for Him each day?
  • What distractions are keeping you from deeper prayer?

Today’s Lenten Resolution

  • Set aside 15 minutes of quiet prayer.
  • Read a short Gospel passage slowly.
  • Turn off one distraction to make room for God.

A Short Prayer for Today

Lord,
I want to seek You with my whole heart.
Remove the distractions that distance me from You.
Help me to hunger for Your Word
more than comfort or noise.
When I feel spiritually dry, strengthen my faith.
When I struggle to focus, give me perseverance.
Draw me closer to You in prayer and silence,
and let me find peace in Your presence today.
Amen
