Friday during Lent turns our attention again to repentance and obedience. The Lord desires hearts that are open and responsive to His voice. Hardened hearts resist grace, but humble hearts receive transformation.
Today we ask for the grace to remain open to God.
Bible Verse of the Day
” Do not harden your hearts.” – Psalm 95:8
A Prayer for an Open Heart
Merciful Lord,
You speak to my heart daily, yet I do not always listen. At times I resist correction. I defend my weaknesses. I allow pride to harden my heart.
Forgive me for the moments when I have ignored Your promptings. Forgive me for closing myself to Your grace out of fear or stubbornness.
Soften my heart, Lord. Make it receptive to Your Word. Help me to welcome correction and embrace growth. Remove resentment, bitterness, and pride from within me.
Give me the humility to accept Your guidance, even when it challenges me. May I never grow indifferent to Your voice. Keep my heart tender, attentive, and obedient.
As I reflect on the Cross today, remind me that Your love was never hardened toward me. May my heart mirror that same compassion toward others.
Transform me, Lord, and keep my heart open to You.
Amen.
