On the Second Sunday of Lent, the Church presents the Transfiguration of the Lord. Jesus reveals His glory to Peter, James, and John, strengthening them before the trials of the Passion. This moment of light prepares them for the darkness of the Cross.
Lent is not only about sacrifice. It is also about glimpsing the glory of Christ so that we may remain faithful when challenges arise.
Bible Verse of the Day
“This is My beloved Son, with whom I am well pleased; listen to Him.” – Matthew 17:5
A Prayer to Listen to Christ
Lord Jesus,
On the mountain of Transfiguration, You revealed Your divine glory. Your disciples were overwhelmed by Your light and the voice of the Father declaring You as His beloved Son.
In my own life, I often struggle to listen. I hear many voices, the noise of the world, my own anxieties, and countless distractions. Yet the Father’s command is simple: listen to Him.
Teach me to listen to Your voice above all others. Help me to recognize Your guidance in Scripture, in prayer, and in the quiet movements of my conscience. Give me the humility to accept Your teaching, even when it challenges my comfort.
When I face trials or moments of discouragement, remind me of Your glory. Strengthen my faith so that I do not lose hope when the path becomes difficult. Let the light of Your presence guide me through every shadow.
Lord, I want to follow You faithfully. Open my ears, open my heart, and shape my life according to Your Word.
Through Christ our Lord.
Amen.
