Eleventh Sunday in Ordinary Time
Also Read: Mass Readings for 14 June 2026
First Reading: Exodus 19: 2-6a
Now if you obey me fully and keep my covenant, then out of all nations you will be my treasured possession. Although the whole earth is mine, you will be for me a kingdom of priests and a holy nation.’ These are the words you are to speak to the Israelites.” (5-6)
The Lord God promised the Israelites that if they kept the Covenant and obeyed him fully, they would be the chosen kingdom. But we know how they disobeyed the Lord and did not keep his covenant. (1Kings 13:21, 1Kings 13:26, Baruch 1:18, Daniel 9:14) There are several other instances as well where we read how the Israelites did not do as the Lord had commanded them.
We ask the Lord to grant us the wisdom and courage to obey His commandment! In Christ Jesus, we can find grace to live as the Lord God’s treasured possession. In Jesus’ name, Amen!
Responsorial Psalm: Psalms 100: 1-3, 5
Know that the Lord is God. It is he who made us, and we are his; we are his people, the sheep of his pasture. (3)
Amen, Alleluia!
Second Reading: Romans 5: 6-11
God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us. Since we have now been justified by his blood, how much more shall we be saved from God’s wrath through him! For if, while we were God’s enemies, we were reconciled to him through the death of his Son, how much more, having been reconciled, shall we be saved through his life! (8-10)
We know Christ died for us once for all and redeemed us while we were still enemies of God! Hence, once we know, we cannot remain in ignorance! Once we have been saved and we know it, we must live in the fullness of God’s presence in our lives. How do we live in the fullness of God’s presence in our lives? – By walking confidently, knowing that his light is leading us! We must read His Word daily. We must let his word soak our thoughts so that we can align our steps to the Lord’s roadmap!
IN Jesus’ name, Amen!
Alleluia: Mark 1: 15
“The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God has come near; repent, and believe in the good news.”
Alleluia!
Gospel: Matthew 9: 36 – 10: 8
When he saw the crowds, he had compassion for them, because they were harassed and helpless, like sheep without a shepherd. Then he said to his disciples, “The harvest is plentiful, but the labourers are few; therefore ask the Lord of the harvest to send out labourers into his harvest.” (9:36-38)
Then Jesus summoned his twelve disciples and gave them authority over unclean spirits, to cast them out, and to cure every disease and every sickness. (10:1)
The Lord God Almighty had compassion on his people because they were “like sheep without a shepherd”! He asked his disciples to pray and then took action by summoning the chosen twelve and granting them authority over every form of evil! Out of his compassion for his people, Christ sent out his apostles on their first mission!
Today, not only do we have the intercession of Christ’s apostles and saints, along with Mary His Mother, we too have been summoned (through our baptism) and been given authority! (Matthew 28:18-20) “See, I have given you authority to tread on snakes and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy; and nothing will hurt you. Nevertheless, do not rejoice at this, that the spirits submit to you, but rejoice that your names are written in heaven.” (Luke 10:19-20) As Christ Jesus gave authority to his apostles, today we His Church shares in his divine mission. If we are obedient to his commandments and uphold his covenant, we too are granted power over any evil that may attack us – be it physical or spiritual. In Jesus’ name, we command any evil that may attack us to be bound to the foot of the Cross of Christ Jesus and every evil be cast out from us. In Jesus’ mighty Name, Amen, Alleluia. We pray in tongues and praise God in Anticipation for His Healing Power over us, for Christ Jesus has dominion over us, over our mind, heart, soul, and body, in Jesus’ name, Amen! Praise you, Abba Father, Praise you, Lord Jesus Christ, Praise you, Lord Holy Spirit God, Praise you, Lord Holy Trinity One God, Amen, Amen, Amen, Alleluia!
