Fourth Sunday of Easter

Also Read: Mass Readings for 26 April 2026

First Reading: Acts 2: 14a, 36-41

Now when they heard this, they were cut to the heart and said to Peter and to the other apostles, “Brothers, what should we do?” Peter said to them, “Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ so that your sins may be forgiven; and you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. (37-38)

The very first converts were first cut to their hearts! The conversion had already taken place internally, first, and then they asked in humility what they should do! St. Peter clearly lays the blueprint: — Repent, be Baptized, and receive the Holy Spirit!

When we hear the words of our Lord through the Word of God or His ministers and the Church, we are called to reflect and examine ourselves. Repentance calls for humility before God in our hearts!

Alleluia, Amen!

Responsorial Psalm: Psalms 23: 1-6

You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies; you anoint my head with oil; my cup overflows. Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life, and I shall dwell in the house of the Lord my whole life long. (5-6)

Alleluia!

Second Reading: First Peter 2: 20b-25

He himself bore our sins in his body on the cross, so that, free from sins, we might live for righteousness; by his wounds you have been healed. For you were going astray like sheep, but now you have returned to the shepherd and guardian of your souls. (24-25)

Christ Jesus set us free! We thank the Lord for this great gift! The Lord leads us as He is the guardian of our souls. We praise and thank the Lord for his mercies on us! In Jesus’ name, Amen, Alleluia!

Alleluia: John 10: 14

Alleluia, Alleluia!

I am the good shepherd. I know my own, and my own know me. Alleluia!

Gospel: John 10: 1-10

“I am the gate. Whoever enters by me will be saved and will come in and go out and find pasture. The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy. I came that they may have life and have it abundantly.” (9-10)

We know who the thief in our lives is today; let us not be bogged down by the assaults! Let us walk courageously with the Lord of Life, Light, and Love! Let us discern the Lord’s voice calling us out of the tomb like Lazarus! Let us run and not be weary! In Jesus’ name, Amen!
