ALLELUIA! “We are an Easter people and Alleluia is our song!” St. John Paul II

First Reading: Acts 10: 34a, 37-43

“God raised him on the third day and allowed him to appear, not to all the people but to us who were chosen by God as witnesses, and who ate and drank with him after he rose from the dead. He commanded us to preach to the people and to testify that he is the one ordained by God as judge of the living and the dead. All the prophets testify about him that everyone who believes in him receives forgiveness of sins through his name.”

St. Peter bears witness to Christ’s passion, death, and resurrection. Our first Pope also confirms to us that we are the “New Chosen ones”!

Alleluia, Amen! In Jesus’ name, Amen!

Responsorial Psalm: Psalms 118: 1-2, 16-17, 22-23

The stone that the builders rejected has become the chief cornerstone. This is the Lord’s doing; it is marvelous in our eyes. Aleluia!

Second Reading: First Corinthians 5: 6b-8

Clean out the old yeast so that you may be a new batch, as you really are unleavened. For our paschal lamb, Christ, has been sacrificed. (7)

In Christ, we are the new creation! Therefore, we ask the Lord to grant us the wisdom and means to clean out the old yeast so that we may be New.

In Jesus’ name, Amen, Alleluia!

Alleluia: First Corinthians 5: 7b-8a

Alleluia, Alleluia! Clean out the old yeast so that you may be a new batch, as you really are unleavened. For our paschal lamb, Christ, has been sacrificed. Therefore, let us celebrate the festival, not with the old yeast, the yeast of malice and evil, but with the unleavened bread of sincerity and truth. Alleluia!

Gospel: Matthew 28: 1-10

Suddenly, Jesus met them and said, “Greetings!” And they came to him, took hold of his feet, and worshiped him. Then Jesus said to them, “Do not be afraid; go and tell my brothers to go to Galilee; there they will see me. (9-10)

The Lord has risen indeed! As the angel had proclaimed to them, Jesus met the holy women and reassured them. Christ tells us today too, not to be afraid but to wait for him! We ask the Lord to grant us the discernment to know where our Galilee is, so that we may meet him there! In Jesus’ name, Amen!

Alleluia, We rejoice, He is Risen! Alleluia!

HAPPY EASTER, EVERYONE!
