Second Sunday of Easter

Also Read: Mass Readings for 12 April 2026

First Reading: Acts 2: 42-47

They devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching and fellowship, to the breaking of bread and the prayers. (42)

It is amazing and inspiring to see how the early church was built through the disciples’ fellowship and community prayers. The apostles shared with the brethren their life-experience with Christ Jesus. What a strong bonding the church at that time would have enjoyed! Especially with Mother Mary among their midst, the church would have been a sanctuary for all those who believed. The Lord God blessed their unified prayers and services as they ate with glad and generous hearts!

The Lord God continues to bless the Church as a community. We have Mother Mary in our midst, all we need is to come to the heart of worship in humble adoration of the Holy Trinity One GOD, and there; we will find our joy and peace. In Jesus’ name, Amen, Alleluia!

Responsorial Psalm: Psalms 118: 2-4, 13-15, 22-24

I was pushed hard, so that I was falling, but the Lord helped me. The Lord is my strength and my might; he has become my salvation. There are glad songs of victory in the tents of the righteous: “The right hand of the Lord does valiantly.” (13-15)

Alleluia!

Second Reading: First Peter 1: 3-9

“Although you have not seen him, you love him; and even though you do not see him now, you believe in him and rejoice with an indescribable and glorious joy, for you are receiving the outcome of your faith, the salvation of your souls.” (8-9)

We praise and thank God for these words through our first Pope, St. Peter, today! Even as he addressed the dispersion of exiles, today these words reach us as the Good News and salvation of our souls.

The Lord has granted us the grace to believe, love, and see HIM in our hearts, as He takes residence through the Holy Spirit in the Holy Eucharist! In Jesus’ name, Amen!

Alleluia: John 20: 29

Alleluia, Alleluia!! Jesus said to him, “Have you believed because you have seen me? Blessed are those who have not seen and yet have come to believe.” Alleluia!

Gospel: John 20: 19-31

Now Jesus did many other signs in the presence of his disciples, which are not written in this book. But these are written so that you may come to believe that Jesus is the Messiah, the Son of God, and that, through believing, you may have life in his name. (30-31)

In today’s Gospel, Christ institutes the sacrament of reconciliation and humbly reassures St. Thomas’ faith! Christ breathes his Peace over them and strengthens the apostles through the Holy Spirit. St. John testifies that these things are written so that we may come to believe that Jesus is the Messiah!

We are amazed at the humility of GOD and clarity of facts given to us, so that we may believe! God died and resurrected from the dead, appeared to a few of them first and then more than 500 witnessed his Ascension. (1 Cor 15:6) Yet HE keeps providing us with His proof! Let us not harden our hearts today in the guise of being ‘intellectually superior” or “technologically developed”! Let us begin to see the Truth revealed to us each day in our hearts! We ask the Lord to grant us the courage to see, know, and believe, in Jesus’ name, Amen!

Alleluia!
